Dr. William Kolbe

I became interested in Eastern sexuality while serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in El Salvador in the late 70’s. During this time, I became affiliated with the Gnóstico School in San Salvador which housed an extensive library of esoteric and occult literature and offered classes in lucid dreaming, astral projection, and transformational sexuality. Through these teachings and practical applications, the course of my life changed dramatically positioning me to question the predominant modes of Western conditioning in terms of our sexuality and perception. I embraced my dreams to be just as important as the experiences I had in physical reality and I consider them both as partners in enabling me to better understand who I am and the people I know. I also became my own alchemical laboratory experimenting with this radically different sexual doctrine documented from the ancient Taoists, Hindus, and Egyptians.

The onset of the Civil War in El Salvador forced my return in 1980 to New England where I quietly continued the Gnóstico discipline while starting a career as a public school teacher. It wasn’t until the mid-nineties that I started to speak publicly about my dream work and managed to offer a course on dream exploration at a local community college. However, my views on sexuality remained hermetically sealed until much later. During this time, I delved into scientific and medical research about human sexuality and found marvelous links uniting Eastern sexual philosophy and doctrine with contemporary Western empirical knowledge. The emergent synthesis of these two different perspectives on sexuality formed a compelling and justifiable ‘sexual manifesto’ that motivated me to break my silence and begin to write.

I dedicate The Rejuvenating Power of Masturbation book and DVD to humanity in an effort to educate men and women about how to cultivate lasting physical-mental health and spiritual growth from their sexual experiences. Through an understanding of the inner workings of their bodies, people can make informed choices regarding their sexuality and avoid adopting conventional ideas about what should be satisfying to them. In this new sexual manifesto, I challenge the Taoists’ male-centered sexology to include women as equal benefactors in the discipline of sexual energy channeling and I call upon the scientific and medical establishments to direct much needed research to understanding how male and female sexuality correlate and differ.
